ANNOUNCEMENTS!

  • Speaking of small miracles, here is a little story about a helium balloon that we released this past Sunday after our LOOK TO HEAVEN IN 2007 - SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY! We actually released around 20-30 balloons with a little note tied to the end of the string saying, something about our church and how we are praying for anyone who receives it and if you receive this to post a little note on our guestbook. Lo and behold we received this email below, today from someone who received one of them! Please read the message....
  • I am sorry to inform you that your balloon did not go to far (she hadn't realized it actually had traveled more than 50 miles!).  It ended up in Marion Center PA.  If you are unsure where that is; it is between Indiana Pa and Punxsutawney PA.  My sister and her husband were the ones that found the balloon, it was right in the middle of their driveway.  My sister is young only 26, she is having a lot of medical problems.  A year and half ago she under went major surgery and she just found out almost two weeks ago that she might need yet another major surgery which would leave her unable to have any children.  The good news here is just over a month or so ago she started going back to church.  Even though she struggles with the fears she faces every day she started looking to the Lord for help.  She wanted me to email you so you know someone who really needed your balloon found it.  She thinks of it as a sign from God.  She was happy yesterday, it was the first since her last doctors visit that she truly was okay and not putting on an act.  You and your congregation might be a little disappointed the balloon did not go far; but for us we are happy it didn't.  Keep sending your balloons, God will make sure they get to the people who need them the most.  God bless you all.                                            Love, Tina Jacques

After reading this, I replied to her email asking for permission to publish her story here, which she gladly approved and further added this part to the story that she hadn't fully explained...

Thank you for replying.  It would be fine if you shared the story.  And please post it to the prayer book. My sister, Ilene, really does need a lot of prayer right now both spiritually and mentally.  They say when it rains it pours and this poor girl is stuck in the middle of a storm.  I have a little bit more to add to the story if you are interested.  This morning after I emailed you I called Ilene to let her know that I emailed you.  I told her what I wrote to you also and then she told me I should have told you what happened a few days ago.  Her and her husband were just talking about everything.  And he said "Ilene, God does not listen to me.  He never answers me."  Yesterday after service and after a family dinner is when the saw the balloon.  I did not think to describe the driveway to you earlier.  They live way way way out in the middle of nowhere.  There is woods surrounding them on three sides and an old strip mine covering the rest.  Her driveway is almost a quarter mile long.  Out in the middle of all of this wilderness was a big, bright orange balloon.  And Gerry smiled and admitted that he was wrong.  If that was not a sign from God what was.  They are keeping the balloon and card as a reminder to them.  So you can share this story with anyone out there that may need a little boost.  God answers...sometimes it is thru friends or doctors or teachers or even an email but now we know that God also answers prayers with beautiful balloons as well.  I will pray for you and your church.   Best wishes, Tina

Miracles can and do happen every day! Please keep the entire family in your prayers and ask God for a miracle!

My friend Patty got good news today. Everything was encapsulated so nothing is required other than check-ups every 6 months for three years. Praise God. Please pray for the Hill family. This is the family from Penn Hills whose son stabbed his two half brothers. Those from my school who know them said the family needs much prayer.
