Bible Application - January 31 - Exodus 40
Questions: 1. What did the Lord command Moses to do on the first day of the first month? (40:1) 2. What was placed in the tabernacle and shielded with a curtain? (40:2) 3. What did they do with the anointing oil? (40:9) 4. Why was everything anointed? (40:9) 5. What was done to Aaron so that he could serve as priest? (40:13 6. What was done to Aaron's sons? (40:15,16) 7. What was placed in the ark? (40:20) 8. Why couldm't Moses enter the Tent of Meeting? (40:35) 9. What did the Israelites do when the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle? (40:36) 10. What was over the tabernacle by day and what was over it by night? (40:38) What can we learn from this lesson? 1. Moses took care to obey God in the smallest of details. Obedience is important. 2. Moses delegated the work. He had a shared ministry. He didn't try to do all the work himself, but allowed others to use their gifts and talents as well. 3. There are many tasks to do to keep a church maintained. No job is too small or unimportant. 4. Notice how the book of Exodus began in sadness. The Israelites were slaves. The book ends in glory. You and I began as slaves to sin. We were redeemed by God and will end our journey in victory. Prayer: Gracious God, help me to follow your plan and be obedient in doing your work. Help me to work well with fellow-workers. May no job be too small or unimportant for me to do. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
