Chapter 11 - israel’s preparation to leave Egypt
Chapter 12 - The Beginning of the New Year
Chapter 13 - The Pillar of cloud and the pillar of fire

What do we learn from this lesson?
1. God always protects His people. There was great crying in Egypt but among God’s people there was complete silence. There will always be a great difference between the non-Christian and the Christian in how we handle the same issues of life. God always makes a difference!
2. Blood was always shed as a sign of forgiveness of sin. Christ’s own death was for the same purpose of shedding the blood necessary for the covering of our sin. That night in Egypt was a sign of God’s protection from the death promised to the first born of Egypt and all who neglected to follow God’s plan to protect His people from death that night.
3. All these great things that God had done for Israel was to be remembered and never forgotten. Each generation was to remind the
succeeding one of the greatness of God less these wonders and miracles of God be lost. Is this not the problem of our generation today? We have forgotten the ancient paths of honesty, decency, and loyalty to God that we once held.
4. The amazing event of the whole journey from slavery to freedom is God’s protection. A pillar of fire to lead the way and a pillar of cloud to shield them from their enemy. This has always been God’s way with His people. If we trust His leadership, we will have no need to fear our enemies, but if we leave His leading, we have just cause to fear even the least of our enemies.

Prayer:
Dear God, You have done g great things for Thy people! Please continue to lead us we pray. May we always rest under Thy protecting hand. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
