Today's Bible Reading...

Bible Application -January 2 - Genesis. 4-6

Questions:

1. “So the Lord said to __________ ‘Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?’” (4:6)
2. “Then the Lord said to __________, ‘where is __________, your brother?’ He said, ‘I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?’” (4:9)
3. “And as for _________, to him also a son was born, and he named him Enoch. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” (4:26)
4. “And Enoch walked with _______ and he was not, for God took him.” (5:24)
5. “And the Lord said, ‘My Spirit shall not __________ with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.’” (6:3)
6. “And the Lord was sorry that he had made _________ on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” (6:6)
7. “But ________ found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” (6:8)
8. “Make yourself an _______ of gopherwood, make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.” (6:14)
9. “And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to __________ from under haven all flesh in which is the breath of life, everything that is on the earth shall died.” (6:17)

Chapter 4 - The Birth of Cain and Abel
Chapter 5 - Age and death of the patriarchs
Chapter 6 - Noah finds grace

What do we learn from this lesson?

1. “Be sure your sin will find you out.” Cain found this out. We can bury our sin as deep as we please but they are never really hid from the eyes of God.
2. In times of crisis, men will pray. After the events of the death of Abel, things became such that God brought prayer into existence. From that time on, men of God and others have turned to God in prayer or uttered a prayer in times of fear and death.
3. What a wonderful life to have lived! To one day walk no longer through the trials of life, but suddenly walk with God in His heavenly home.
4. Sometimes we wonder how much longer can the Lord put up with present conditions on earth! Perhaps these are the days God is giving Christians a second chance at seeking to change the thinking of all men. Perhaps a worldwide turning to God is the only way of avoiding the final day of this age.
5. The desire of every Christian is to find grace in the eyes of God. Grace as Noah found. Grace which saved him and his entire family.
6. The flood is a realistic sign as to what God can do if He so chooses. God grant that we too shall find mercy, grace and forgiveness of sin and enjoy eternal life with Him.

Prayer:
O God, We pray for the sins of our nation and of the whole world. Please grant us more time and greater perseverance in winning the world for Thee. Amen.
