Chapter 46 - Jacob and his family move to Egypt
Chapter 47 - Jacob is facing death
Chapter 48 - Jacob blesses Joseph’s two sons
1. How do you think the Egyptians felt about all these foreigners coming to
their land even though they were small in number? We need to remember that this
is not the Christian’s final home. Heaven awaits for those who have accepted
Christ.
2. How do you think they felt when Pharaoh made Joseph a ruler in the land? It
may have bothered them at first but Joseph was under God’s authority and he
acted kindly to the Egyptians and saved their people from the famine.
3. Why do you think Jacob hesitated to leave Canaan? He knew that God had placed
them in Canaan and he felt God would take care of them there but then he had a
vision at Beersheba and was assured that his stay in Egypt would not be long so
he went to Egypt.
4. Jacob would have missed the pleasure of knowing that Joseph was alive if he
had not gone to Egypt. Sometimes we miss out on blessings God wants to give us
when we refuse to do what He asks us to do.
5. Grandchildren are such a blessing to most grandparents. Grandparents should
as much time s possible with them, pray for them, and set a good example for
them to follow.
Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, We pray for the leaders of our nation, our
judges, all who are in authority that they will be guided by the Holy Spirit
and that we will appreciate our family and do all we can to lead our entire
family to accept Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
