Chapter 40 - Joseph interprets the dreams of the baker and butler
Chapter 41 - Joseph prepares for a famine
Chapter 42 - Jacob sends his sons to buy corn

What do we learn from this lesson?
1. God often sends us into difficult places of life so that we may bring Glory to Him. Joseph is unjustly thrown into prison so that he would be in a position to interpret the dreams and eventually prepare for providing his family with food during the famine.
2. Joseph gives god the praise and glory for being able to interpret dreams. Isn’t it amazing that the whole country could be saved from death because one man could be used by God to prepare?
3. The famine began but preparation had already been made. Is this not a lesson to we of our generation. Credit cards are easy to use but they must eventually be paid for by cash already in the Bank. We are cautious that lack of food is not the only famine we may face. Prayer and Bible study will avert the spiritual famine that has fallen upon much of our own nation today.
4. Joseph has those who sold him into slavery in the hollow of his hand. Yet, we see the value of returning good for evil. The family is again brought together by the silent act of forgiveness. Apologies are not always needed, All that is needed is a silent act of forgiveness to restore broken fellowship in families and churches.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to be more willing to forgive then to demand an act of recognition of sin committed against us by another one. Amen
