Chapter 1 - Creation of Heaven and Earth
Chapter 2 - The Fist Sabbath
Chapter 3 - The Fall of Man
What do we learn from this lesson?
1. God created all that is in six days. We must remember that this day could be
24 hours, or a generation, or a period of time designated by God.
2. God made man in His own image, in His own spirit, with the ability to make
decisions and choices for himself, this would seem to be a reasonable
interpretation of “being created in the image of God.”
3. Man was to be fruitful and fill the earth. Isn’t it amazing how we have given
up most of this control to those who would destroy all the good that God has
created for us?
4. God rested on the Seventh day. How is it that people today, many of them
Christians, can continue to work at unnecessary tasks on the Sabbath? It is
hoped that those who are required to work on the Sabbath will be given another
day to rest from their labors.
5. It is recorded that man’s first sin was that of unbelief and rebellion. Are
these yet the downfall of our nation today, unbelief in God and rebellion
against His commandments?
6. At the tree of good and evil, sin began, yet verse 15 of Chapter 3 indicates
that God will provide a way of escape from sin for all generations. That way,
through the suffering Christ, the door of forgiveness is open to all of us
today. Wise is the one who will avail himself of it.
Prayer,
Dear God, We all need Thy forgiveness of sins we have committed. Help us to come
to Thee daily for Thy forgiveness and for Thy grace which will keep us ready for
the day when we shall be called to give an account of our lives. Amen
