Today's Bible Reading...
Bible Application - Leviticus 22-23 Feb. 9
Questions:
1. “Whatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not _______________
on your behalf.” (22:20)
2. “_________ days shall work be done but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn
rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the
Lord in all your dwellings. (23:3)
3. “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the
___________ of your field when you reap nor shall you gather any gleaming from
your harvest. You shall leave them for the ______ and for the _______, I am the
Lord your God.” (23;22)
4. “That your generation may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in

Chapter 22 - The Sabbath
Chapter 23 - Sacrifices must be without blemish.
What do we learn from these chapters?
1. All the laws and ordinances dealing with leporsy and all other ordinances of
the Lord must be kept, under penalty of death.
We are all in one way lepers. Unclean before the Lord and the only cleansing, as
of old, is the shedding of the blood of the Lamb. For what we could not do, God
did for us, so that we may not die in our sins, but could be washed in His blood
and become whole in His sight.
2. Much has been said concerning the Sabbath in these two chapters. The way our
nation handles the Sabbath must bring much hurt to God and which is to our own
national detrimental. The Sabbath is a holy day set aside for a nation to honor
God. Yet we have made it a major shopping day. May God have mercy on us and
forgive us for this national sin.
3. One of the most touching verses in this chapter 23, is God’s concern for the
poor. How must God smile on many of our charitable institutions that still reach
out to the poor and needy.
4. “You shall dwell in booths.” We too must never forget where we came from for
we too were homeless pilgrims, coming from oppressive nations, to enjoy the
freedoms promised by your government. We must never forget the past less we sink
back into it again.
Prayer:
O God, your Word has taught us much about Your love and care for us. Help us to
remember Thy laws and ordinances that we may never forget to honor You, by
keeping them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
