Questions: 1. “So they brought what ___________ commanded before the tabernacle of meeting. And all the congregation drew near and stood before the Lord. (9:45) 2. :And ______came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they ______ and fell on their faces. (9:240 3. “So ____ went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.” (10:2) 4. “And that you may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by the hand of _________.” (10:11) Chapter 9 - The Fire came upon the altar from God Chapter 10 - The Law of eating Holy Things What do we learn from these chapters? 1. All sacrifices brought before the Lord were to be unblemished but this is not enough. With our offerings, we are commanded to bring ourselves. 2. It is necessary that we also appear before the Lord in a Holy or Godly reference. To present our self to the Lord each Sunday along with our sacrifice or offering is a holy experience to be a renewing time to face the new day with confidence and great anticipation. 3. When the fire of God rests upon a person or a congregation, to let our spirits before the Lord is an experience that God would have all of His people to experience. 4. To be disobedient to the Lord’s command always carries grave consequences. Nabad and Abihu disobeyed God and they died before the Lord. The lesson is disobedience to God, unless confessed, will always lead to eternal death. 5. Then in verse 11 of chapter 10 , we find the solution to many of the problems of our time. The old lesson to trust in God and be obedient to His commands has always been the medicine an ailing society. Parents, God directs this as our responsibility to our children. Prayer: God help us, we pray, that we forget not the delights of Your ways. We pray that You will continually remind us of our responsibility to seek to perpetuate these blessings to our children and our children’s children. Amen.
