Today's Bible Reading...

Bible Application - Leviticus 26-27 Feb. 11

Questions:
1. “Five of you shall chase a ______ and a ___________ of you shall put ten thousand to flight, your enemies shall fail by the sword before you.” (26:8)
2. “I will set My _______ against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.” (26:17)
3. “Speak to the _______ of Israel, and say unto them, ‘When a _____shall make a singular vow, the person shall be for the Lord by Thy estimation.” (27:2)
4. “And all the tithes of the land, whether of the _________ of the land or the __________ of the tree, it is holy unto the Lord.” (27:30)

Chapter 26 - A Blessing to the Obedient
Chapter 27 - Biblical taxation.

What do we learn from these chapters?
1. God promises strength, peace, His presence and His blessings to those who walk in His statutes and keeps His commandments. If we will do this, He promises we will never be in want and we will be the food basket of the world and we will never need to fear our enemies. When will our nation desire such protection and blessings from God that we will once again come back to the God of our creation?
2. On the other hand, to withhold our taxes (our tithes) from God is to incur His wrath. He says, “I will set my force against you.” There will be a time when we shall fear not only our enemies, but we will fear when there is nothing to fear. But our hope is before us. God has promised that if we repent, He will again give us back our land and His peace. What encouragement for each of us to seek to walk in His ways and to continue to offer our tithes to Him.
3. In reality the tithes of the land or our labors belong to the Lord. All are God’s, whether we give to the church or to a charitable organization, it is all the Lord’s.

Prayer:
Dear God, keep us reminded that not only the tithes of our labors and the tithes of the land, but also our lives are there to be used as You see fit. Amen.
